Jayne and Jo with Jodie as we walk the path alongside Ennerdale Water. Our route will take us diagonally up the fell side to the left to the col just below Anglers Crag ahead.
View towards the top end of Ennerdale. Pillar is capped in cloud on the right hand side, as is the High Stile ridge on the left. Jayne making sure that Mr P knows that he has three ladies in charge today !!!! View over the Pinnacles on Crag Fell. The dark fell in the background is Knock Murton with Blake Fell to the right.
Jayne ascending a steep section of grass to attain the ridge above the Pinnacles.
Needing more than two points of contact . . . Meanwhile we reach the ridge above and the terrain meant we could continue chatting all the way up ! Altogether again. On the path to the summit cairn of Crag Fell with Grike behind. By the time we returned this way after our lunch, the cloud was low so it was not worth a detour to Grike. The summit cairn of Crag Fell. John looks happy to be stopping for lunch, and Bethan decides to give Jayne a kiss ! Low cloud can be seen enveloping Pillar behind. A study of Jodie. Jayne's photo of myself, Jo and John at our lunch spot just down from the cairn. Misty on the top as we pack up after lunch. John had shared his delicious hot chocolate ! Downwards now, the car is parked near the trees below. The forests have been extensively cleared recently as can be seen in the distance behind Jayne. Far below, the outlet at the corner of Ennerdale Water which we had passed just after the start of the walk. Megan and Harry in front of the gate leading through the forest on the final stage of our walk down to the car.
