Come and stay on a working hill farm in the heart of the English Lake District, so beautiful that the valley was chosen

for the opening scenes of the Beatrix Potter Film "Miss Potter", staring Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor.

Askill is a working sheep and beef farm with plenty going on at any time of year.

How to find us . . .

Askill can be found on most maps.

From the M6 leave at junction 40 (Penrith) and head for Keswick.

Stay on the A66 by-passing Keswick and at Braithwaite take a left turn to Lorton via the Whinlatter Pass. Through Lorton village, turn left onto the Buttermere Road (B5292). Follow the signs for Loweswater.

Pass Scale Hill and once in the village continue on past the lake (approx 2 miles) and turn right onto the Askill Farm lane opposite the grey phone box.
