This is where the young Wordsworth children grew up. Their father worked for Lord Lowther at the time.

Did you know . . . . it was Dorothy Wordsworth's birthday on December 25th, exactly 250 years ago this year.



Cockermouth Shops have taken Christmas to heart again	. . . with some festive and some exquisite.

The message in the pet shop is clear to see.

In Loweswater we were fortunately able to re-start our carol singing again this year.

Being outside and suitably distanced was okay, but using separate cars was more of a problem this year.

However the much anticipated "return to some form of normality" was popular

and we gathered a good group of singers to honour the occasion. A collection was made in support of NSPCC Children's Charity.

Our Buttermere Carols started at Scale Hill two evenings later.	. . . and you might even be able to see father Christmas if you're good !
