After a snowy fell walk yesterday, we decided Harry would be happier with a low level walk and swim on this beautiful day.

Whilst Harry and I enjoyed our Crummock-side walk, Roger and Dylan climbed Whiteside above us.

[ More of that on the next report ]

A happy boy at Cinderdale.

We can see this car park from our cottage which is away across the lake under Low Fell.

Testing the water temperature . . . he seems to think it is okay !

Happiness is stick shaped, standing in freezing cold water !

We continue along the shore path . . .
. . . this holly is still bearing berries.

This one of our favourite walks, and on a day like today it is simply superb.

Only a little snow remaining on the surrounding fells.

I took this photo as I loved the colours, the clarity of the water and the reflections.

We enter the woods . . .

. . . lovely damp pine smells as we continue through.

Harry and I drop down to one of the many stoney beaches.

Further along, this is one of our favourite logs to sit on in summer time.

We continue to a deserted beach at the Boat House.

The view from the bench at the back of the beach with Melbreak and the Loweswater fells in the distance.

Time to sit and take in this lovely view once again.

Suddenly the beach was no longer deserted and Harry was joined by his good friends Harvey and Daisy.

He is seen here with Harvey, this encounter meant I had the pleasure of Sophie and her friend Ruth's company for the walk back to the car.

Beware incoming sharks !

The return journey was pleasantly warm in the sun.

Blue skies and blue water . . . perfect.

Sophie . . . treat time for the dogs at the bench.

Back to the car at Cinderdale.

Now let's go home and see if our two other boys will have beaten us back !
