Time for a short walk this afternoon. Dee and John are over from Durham

and we meet for a walk up Latrigg, not too high or too long so as not to tire their elderly dog Amber.

The weather is slightly hazy with a strong breeze but despite that, there's a great view from up there today.

Hello from my two companions, Dee and John.

Lovely views on this sunny afternoon, here looking back towards Skiddaw.

Panoramic views over Keswick and Derwent Water today from Latrigg summit ridge.

Meet Amber, our wind-ometer for the day.

Amber is Harry's half sister, now into her fourteenth year, though still enjoying her shorter walks.

Dee seems to be engaged in

deep conversation with Harry.

John seems to have become disorientated in the wind and is walking in the opposite direction to Dee and Amber.

Whoops ! Wrong way . . .

Better back into the wind and do an about turn !

That's better . . .

Positioning the dogs to sit for a photo,

Amber is having a problem keeping her ear down in the wind.

The best we could do, it was so windy it was difficult to communicate,

with them or with each other !

Walking further along the ridge,

Blencathra ahead with the two Mell fells to the right.

Returning to the cars at Gale Road end, the main path up Skiddaw can be seen stretching ahead up the fell.

What better way to conclude a lovely afternoon than pop into Abraham's Cafe at Fishers to see Roger and all enjoy tea and cake together.
