There we were, sitting quietly minding our own business.
It had been raining hard at times during the day as the forecasted poorer weather had arrived on schedule yesterday evening.
Suddenly Ann looked out of the window . . .
. . . and saw the sunset on Grasmoor.
We both went out, cameras in hand, to enjoy the spectacle.
The colourful sunset and a departing rain shower offered us a fine rainbow.
Ann takes to the high ground . . . the bedroom window . . . to watch from there.
The whole valley is changing colour in the late evening sunshine.
I head out of the front door instead . . . mind the traffic.
The rainbow intensifies and the side of Mellbreak reflects the rich pinks of the sun.
A wide angle view of Whiteside and Grasmoor above the cottage.
The beauty of the British weather is that you really can't predict it too accurately.
Who would have thought . . . and five minutes later it was gone.
