It's May and we've booked a few days at a cliff-top hotel overlooking the blue waters of St Brides Bay.

Chance to re-visit a part of the Wales that is not a million miles from where we used to live

and to visit friends and family in Swansea as part of the same holiday.

The Druidstone, perched high on the cliffs.

First things first . . . we walked down to the beach to take the air after our journey.

The tide is in and just watching the waves on the rocks is a great start to the holiday.

High tide and the sand is covered at the moment.

This is the opposite headland of the bay, looking northwest and out to the distant headland of St David's.

An overcast evening but the watery sun still manages to give good reflections in the surf.

Time for dinner so we make our way back up the beach steps to the hotel.

We've booked the top balcony room . . . guaranteed a view then !

That's one heck of a loft conversion.
Harry and Bethan settle as we prepare for dinner.

There's still chance of our first sunset as the sun appears from below the bank of high cloud.

With a view across the bay to St David's Head and the high ground of Carn Llidi . . .

Our first evening sunset.

This site best viewed with . . . ten days off work and a couple of good books in the suitcase.
