Appearing out of the mist . . . on Hen Comb

Jane, James and Matthew were in Loweswater this afternoon and fancied a walk out on the local fells.

It was mid afternoon when they arrived so it was a prompt start to get back before the light faded.

The Negative Signpost below the Kirkstile Inn.

The front of Jayne and the back of our two dogs . . . could have been worse . . . could have been the other way round.

Our two male companions . . .Matthew . . .
. . . and James.

Jayne safely across the pool on the Mosedale beck.

Plenty of chatter as we make our way up.

Matthew and James stop to admire the misty view of Loweswater.

The summit is in sight ahead of us

but it keeps disappearing behind the drifting cloud.

The final pull up onto the mist shrouded summit.

Harry waits for me, Bethan is already on the skyline . . . no surprises there then !

Our three companions making their way up behind us.

Bethan and Harry reach the summit of Hen Comb.

Matthew's first lakeland summit.

No views unfortunately . . . but the weather is mild as seen from James's attire !

On our way down now . . . Harry waiting patiently as usual.

Bethan on the crags of Little Dodd which we diverted to on our descent.

It is nearly quarter to six and daylight is fading.

Harry and Bethan run down the final slope for another dip in the beck

which we then waded across a second time before taking the Mosedale track home.
