A grey day and a busy list of household tasks, but one of those is to exercise the dogs and ourselves, so it's a shorter local walk today.

Mellbreak across the fields, at the start of the walk.

High Park House, one of the older properties in the valley.

Wall repairs - first spread out the stones . . .

Less windy than a few weeks ago, Ann crosses the field heading for the beach.

The rocky Rannerdale Knotts with Crummock water at it's feet.

Further up the valley, the higher fells are hidden in a blanket of poorer weather.

Recent windy weather and strong wave action has stacked up a steeper than normal bank of stones on the beach.

Walking on round the lake, with the Boathouse and Whiteside on the opposite bank.

A short but sweet walk today.
