A weekend visit to Camberley

to see Cathy, Richard, Matthew, Sam and Alexander

Last weekend we travelled the motorway system again, this time down south to Camberley to the west of London, to stay with Cathy and Richard, see them and the grandchildren, and to swap Christmas presents in advance of the forthcoming celebrations.

There are some lovely beech woods close to their home which are ideal for a Saturday afternoon walk with the dogs.

Alexander ready with the dogs leads.
Sam and Ann crossing a plank bridge in the woods.

It's been rather damp down there too, so the paths and tracks were tricky in places.

Autumn colours . . .
. . . in the afternoon sunshine.

Mixed woodland, Beech and Pine.

Autumn colours but a winter look now the leaves have fallen.

Woodland buildings
A shelter and a well built table.

On the Army ranges, the Gurkha soldiers had built a kitchen and assembly area deep in the woods.

I think the table looks a bit worse for wear though.

A fine covered seating area.

Back home in the evening Alexander enjoyed his supper . . .
A Monty Python moment perhaps ?

Sunday was Rugby practice, and a game against local opposition afterwards.

Richard takes some coaching, Sam (third on the right) has his hands ready for the next pass.

Matthew on the far side of the scrum was playing prop forward. ( blond hair in the centre)

Camberley racing for another try against Farnborough.

A sheepskin blanket as a saddle ~ Harry gives Alexander a ride.

Sam joins in as well, to give his younger brother a second trip round the living room.

Myself and young Alexander try to get to grips with new technology - the ipod music system.

What can you hear ?

( We were listening to the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang soundtrack by the way.)

Time for a book before bed.

And perhaps stay up a little later with a second book from Mummy.

Matthew, complete with cheesy grin is learning his lines for his homework.

He is taking the part of Mr Potts . . . .in that schools production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Ann prepares his costume.
Nice and bright, as requested by the producer.

Harry managed to find the remnants of the t-shirt Ann used to make the flower designs.

Theo, the black lab, wishes he had one too !
