A family weekend when our second daughter, by date not importance you understand (!), came over with her family for a visit.

These are a few of the photos from the local walk we did on the Sunday.

Mellbreak with morning mist on its summit.
The afternoon sun has burnt away the cloud.

Thomas showing his strength by holding the tree up all by himself.

Yes, leave it about there - it will fit in just fine !

We took a local walk past the Kirkstile and up the Mosedale track.

Jenna carries her niece Abi, to save Mum (or Dad) the effort.

Jenna, back from a gap year in Canada, has been busy applying for jobs.

She'll be off to Peterborough shortly where she'll be able to earn enough to keep her parents in a manor to which we would like to become accustomed !

A set up photo or what ?

All I said was " look natural and keep walking "

Bracket fungus in Green Wood underneath Mellbreak.
Close up, including the brown slug !

( This was an attempt to introduce a bit of culture into the walk.)

The walk took us over to Crummock Water, where Thomas was able to throw stones to entertain Harry.

" Go fetch ! "

A small raft of Goosander ducks on the lake.

Time for myself to pose for the camera with Abi ~ Say cheese Abi.

Well at least I was smling nicely.
